A rare pair of graduated George III silver wine coasters of ogee shape with applied foliate, shell and gadrooned rims. Turned wood bases with central silver bosses. Outer rim diameter 5 and 6 inches respectively ( smaller size takes a standard wine bottle, larger size for a magnum or decanter). Made Sheffield 1815/16 by Matthew Fenton & Co. Excellent condition.
