Antique Silver-Gilt Dish Ring V.228


A larger than average silver-gilt dish ring or potato ring in the Irish style with a pierced waisted central section depicting swimming swans, a farmer blowing a horn, cows, a wooden fence, trees, flowers and scrolls. A large vacant scroll work cartouche on both sides. Base 9.5 inches ( 24 cm. ) 4.5 inches high ( 11.5 cm. ) nett weight 20.9 troy ounces ( 650 grams. ) Fitted blue glass liner. Made in britannia silver ( .950 standard ) in London 1905 by Maurice Freeman. Excellent condition.
