Silver Sauce Boats, Salts & Cruets (click on photos for larger view) O.383: An 18th. century boat shaped oval silver sauce tureen with leaf mounted reeded handles and an oval reeded foot, rim and girdle, the plain domed lid with an oval vine handle. The lid engraved with a winged lion crest, faint coat of arms on the boat. 9.5 inches across the handles, 5.5 inches tall. 22 troy ounces. Made in London 1792 by John Fayle. £1000.
O.327: A set of 4 18th. century oval silver salt cellers on 4 ball and claw feet, beaded edge, pierced with foliate scroll work, oval cartouches with contemporary initials. 3.3 inches long, 2 inches high, blue glass liners ( 1 a replacement). Made in London 1777 by Robert Hennell. £650 for 4.

O.260: A pair of late Victorian oval salt pots, with helmeted winged figure handles, the shaped body embossed all over with decorative scroll work, fitted blue glass liners. 4.4 inches long. Made in London 1896 by Wakely & Wheeler. £200 pair.
O.258: A pair of George III silver boat shaped sauce tureens and covers on oval reeded pedestal bases, the bowls and lids part fluted with reeded handles, vase shaped finials. Leopard head crest with a 3 point coronet and motto: "Pour Rien Deserir". 9.1 inches long. 36 troy ounces. Made in London 1796 by James & Elizabeth Bland. £2200. pair.
O.140: A pair of Edwardian oval silver salts on 4 ball and claw feet with gadrooned edges, the sides pierced with a design of flowers, animals and birds. Original blue glass liners with star cut bases. 3.3 inches long. Made in London 1901/2 by Charles Stuart Harris. £250 pair.
O.113: A good set of 4 18th. century oval silver salts on 4 ball and claw feet, intricately pierced with a floral design, shaped gadrooned edges, fitted blue glass liners. 3.8 inches long, 2.8 inches wide, 2.2 inches high. Made in London 1769/70 by Francis Spillsbury II. Together with 4 later fiddle pattern salt spoons, made in London 1815. £700 set
