Silver Inkstands

O.179: An oval shaped silver capstan inkwell on a flat base with a raised rim recessed for pens, domed hinged lid, original glass reservoir. 6 inches long, 3.5 inches wide. Made in Birmingham 1914. £160.

 

N.596 Victorian Silver Inkstand                                

N.596: A Victorian bead edged oval 2 bottle inkstand with scroll work handles and four bead and scroll feet, fitted with 2 globular diamond cut glass wells with hinged bead edged silver lids, the stand engraved with floral panels and diaper work, central vacant cartouche. 11 inches across. Made in London 1865 by H.L.H.L.  £550.

 

N.22 Austro/Hungarian Silver and Enamel Desk Set 

N.22: A fine 3 piece silver and enamel desk set, comprising an oval pen tray( 8.5 inches long) a globular inkwell with hinged lid, rose finial and pedestal foot supported by a circular dish(4.5 inches high, 6 inches long), and a table bell with enamelled skirt and minaret shaped handle( 5 inches tall). All pieces applied with wirework rings and various polychromed enamelled flowers in teardrop panels in the Ottoman style.  Austro/Hungarian circa 1890. £2800 three piece set.

H.800: A good late Victorian silver 2 bottle inkstand, 11.5 ins long x 7 ins wide, shell & gadrooned border, 4 scroll & flower feet, fitted with 2 silver mounted cut-glass bottles; later inscription for 1907. Hallmarked London 1892. £950

H.788: A good Victorian 2 bottle inkstand, rectangular with scroll & mask border on 4 ornate feet. Central pounce pot with pull off taperstick cover & chain attachments, both cut-glass inkpots with silver covers with greyhound finials. 10 ins long, London 1864. Later Dragoon Guards inscription for 1876. £900

H.740: A good heavy Geo III, 18 th c. silver inkstand; 11.5 x 7.5 inches. by Charles Aldridge & Henry Green, London 1772. Rectangular, gadroon borders, 3 silver mounted cut-glass bottles & 2 pen wells, on 4 pierced bracket feet. £1750
