A George II English Provincial silver tankard with straight tapering sides. S scroll handle, domed lid with scroll thumb-piece, low girdle and spreading circular foot. Engraved with 3 crests over an intricate armorial. The arms are those of PEMBERTON & STAPYLTON. The armorial contains a full set of quartering showing great heraldic detail and accuracy. 5.75 inches high. 13 troy ounces. Marks rubbed: Newcastle circa 1730.
