Silver Card Cases (click on photos for larger view) O.95: A late Victorian rectangular silver card case with shaped sides chased with maple leaves and demi sunbursts front and back. Engraved with a double griffin crest, circular vacant cartouche to the rear. 4 x 2.3 inches. Made in Birmingham 1890 by Francis Miller. £240
N.475: A Victorian rectangular card case of book form applied with mother of pearl panels on both sides, the front inlaid with a raised silver frame with dentil moulded decoration and a decorative diamond shaped silver panel with foliate engraving and vacant central shield shaped cartouche. The interior lined with blue silk, containing concertina shaped card holder. 4.2 x 3 inches. circa 1870. £160.
N.494: A good quality early Victorian silver cardcase with a shaped border, engraved on 1 side with the Scott Memorial in Edinburgh within a scroll work and foliate serround, similar foliate and scroll work decoration to the rear and with a central vacant cartouche. 3.75 x 2.75 inches. Made in Birmingham 1854 by Nathanial Mills. £480. N.495: A ladies silver cardcase embossed with a scene of a young galant paying court to a seated lady holding a fan in period costume, with a serround of trees, flowers and scrollwork. Original tan leather fitted interior. 4 x 3 inches. Import marks for London 1895. £300.

N.477: A Victorian silver card case intricately engraved with flowers and geometric patterns on both sides, vacant circular cartouche to the front, small cartouche to the rear containing the bust of William Shakespear. 3.8 x 2.7 inches. N.478: An Edwardian silver case embossed with foliate and diamond scrollwork, the center embossed with a highland scene of a stag with 2 hinds behind it overlooking a rocky escarpment, the reverse embossed with foliate and diamond scrollwork with a central vacant cartouche. 3.9 x 2.7 inches. Made in Birmingham 1907. £330. N.509: A good quality early Victorian rectangular "castle top" silver card case with a shaped edge, heavily chased to the front and rear with foliate scroll work, the front embossed with a raised model of The Royal Exchange, vacant cartouche to the rear. 4 x 2.8 inches. M.387: An Edwardian rectangular silver cardcase with a hinged lid, profusely embossed on both sides with foliate scroll work, vacant cartouche front and back. 4 x 2.3 inches. L.931: An early 20th. century rectangular silver card case with chain and finger ring, the plain case with with a partially fluted scroll border, the interior complete with original duck egg blue leather card compartments, ivory filet note pad and silver pencil. 4 x 3 inches. K.319: A rectangular silver card case with attached silver chain, decorated on both sides with flowers, bows and garlands, vacant oval cartouche on both sides. Original taupe coloured leather interior, with stamp pockets, ivory aid memoire, silver pencil, and the original owners' business & calling cards. 4.2 x 3.2 inches. Made in Birmingham 1914. £200.
