Antique Conductor's Baton R.545
A good quality ebony conductor's baton with silver coloured metal mounts in 2 sections . The ebony is inlaid with white metal stringing and the mounts decorated with scroll-work and engraved with 2 conjoined initials in floral italic script. Button finial at each end. Total length 38 cm. Original fitted black leather case with brass hinges. Circa 1890. Baton and case both in immaculate condition£230.00

A rare silver mounted ivory conductors baton in two sections in the original fitted leather case. The ivory baton with 3 decorative silver mounts, the central one inscribed from "The choir of St James Church Hopetown " and dated 9th. October 1890. 19 inches assembled length. Made in London 1889 by John Henry Rawlings. The case stamped: THE HANDY POCKET BATON Rd. No. 105524. Excellent condition. Geographical note: Hopetown is on the Abaco Islands, part of the Northern Bahamas.£440.00
